About This Activity
Students will learn yoga poses and meditation in a fun and interactive way. Each day we will incorporate books, music, games, physical activities, and an art project! Research has shown that yoga can improve focus, memory, self-esteem, academic performance, and classroom behavior, as well as reduce anxiety, stress, depression, and hyperactive behavior in children. By incorporating meditation into their daily routine, your child will have the opportunity to tap into this valuable skill at a moment’s notice to help them find peace and quiet whenever they need it. Yoga is a fantastic tool to teach children about the world, nature, their mind, their emotions, and their bodies! Alisa Wright is a veteran teacher of 24 years, including many years working with UC Irvine developing math and science curriculum, training teachers, and leading STEM programs. She has a MA in Education and is also a 200 RYT yoga teacher and certified Sound Therapist
