About This Activity
MAPS Youth Seminary seeks to equip Muslim youth with a strong foundation in their Deen through a more serious Islamic studies program taught by qualified instructors. Our youth who complete Youth Seminary will gain a strong understanding of their faith including its core beliefs, rituals, and teachings. They will also develop a solid foundation to continue studying Islam and to serve as role models and youth leaders in the community. Youth Seminary differs from other programs by having high expectations and commitment from students: students will have an attendance requirement and regular assessments throughout the quarter. MAPS Youth Seminary is a multi-year program and operates on a semester system. Two subjects are taught each quarter by MAPS Scholar recipients (Akram Baioumy, Anas Azeemi, Omer Siddiuqi, Sally Elhousieny). Upon completion of all courses, students will graduate and receive a certificate of completion. Subjects that will be taught include: Aqeedah, Fiqh, Proofs of Prophethood, Preservation of Quran/Quran Sciences, 40 Hadith of Imam Nawawi/Hadith Sciences, Islamic Manners, Tafsir of the last ten Surahs, Du’aas, Stories of the Prophets, Tazkiyah/Diseases of the Heart, Lives of the Companions/Islamic History, and Contemporary Issues. Assessments will be regularly administered throughout the quarter.
