Welcome to our Culinary World Explorer Summer Camp, where we inspire young chefs to explore the world of cooking with fun and educational activities. This is a 3-week series, where each week covers a different theme. Week 1: “Roll with It!” Doughy Treats and Twists A week of rolling, shaping, baking, and tasting soft doughs from different countries. Campers will also explore sauces, glazes, and salads to complement each dish. Day 1 (Germany): Soft Pretzels with cheese sauce & cinnamon sugar mix Day 2 (Italy): Calzones with homemade tomato sauce — kids make the sauce and learn about fresh herbs Day 3 (USA): Donuts with two glazes — chocolate & vanilla Day 4 (Turkey): Turkish Pide with Ezme Salad Week 2: Pasta Week: “Pastabilities Are Endless!” Kids will explore the many ways different cultures prepare pasta, noodles, and dough-filled dishes — through rolling, shaping, coloring, and mixing. Day 1 (Italy): Fresh Fettuccine with Basil Pesto Day 2 (China): Handmade Dumplings with Soy-Garlic Dipping Sauce Day 3 (France): Colorful French-Inspired Pasta with Garlic Herb Butter Sauce Day 4 (Russia): Russian-Inspired Pasta Salad with Fresh Mayonnaise Week 3: Savory Snacks from Around the World Hand-held snacks from different regions — a perfect blend of fun folding techniques, spices, and side dishes. Day 1 (Argentina): Empanadas with fresh tomato salsa Day 2 (Syria): Spinach Fatayer with Fattoush Salad + kids make fresh zaatar Day 3 (Nepal): Chicken & Veg Momos with soy dipping sauce Day 4 (Somalia): Beef & Potato Sambusas + Somali spice exploration The class is taught by previous camp teacher Sr. Saman Atherr.
