Description
Division D: Development for the FutureDiscover the City of Rialto Basketball Experience—a dynamic youth basketball initiative that goes far beyond a typical recreational league. Our program is designed to ignite a love for the game while helping kids grow physically, emotionally, and socially, all in a safe, structured, and exciting environment. We celebrate teamwork, sportsmanship, fairness, and equality, empowering every young athlete to shine and reach their full potential.
What Makes Our Program Special?
Dynamic Team Building: For returning players, we do our best to keep you on the same team as last season whenever possible, ensuring continuity and camaraderie.
Fair Play and Registration: Coaches cannot recruit or register players on their own. Every child must register directly through Parks, Recreation & Community Services. Don’t forget: each participant must submit a copy of their birth certificate via email to Recreation@rialtoca.gov.
Age & Eligibility: This division is exclusively for players between 6 and 7 years old. Age eligibility is determined by the player’s age at the end of the season.
Season at a Glance
- Dates: May 10, 2025 – July 26, 2025
- Game Day: Every Saturday
- Location: Carl Johnson Center Gym, 214 N. Palm Ave, Rialto, CA
- Game Times: Regular season games run from 10:00 am to 11:30 am with side-court modified rules.
- Equipment: For practice and home use, we recommend a 27.5-size basketball. Please label your child’s ball with their name—personal balls are not allowed on game days.
Key Dates & Requirements
- Parent Meeting (Division D): April 8, 2025, at 6:00 pm at the Carl Johnson Center Gym.
- Skills Assessment: There is no skills assessment for this age group.
- Practices: Starting the week of April 28, 2025, practices will be held between 5:00 pm and 9:00 pm. Sessions will take place at the Carl Johnson Center Gym, local parks, or middle schools. Practices are scheduled on two days per week (typically Sundays through Fridays). The complete schedule will be provided once teams are formed.
- Rosters: Rosters will be posted on TeamSideline by the Wednesday before practices begin.
- Picture Days: May 28, 2025, and May 29, 2025. Each team will have an assigned day and time for pictures.
- Refunds: Refund requests must be submitted by May 2, 2025, at 6:00 pm. Requests can be made via email or in person at Community Center room 204 (Front Desk).
- Registration Fee Perks: Your registration fee includes a basketball jersey, which is handed out on the first game day. Jerseys from the current season must be worn at every game. Replacement jerseys are available for $30.
- Waitlist: If a spot becomes available, players on the waitlist will be notified immediately. Once notified, payment must be completed by the end of the next business day. If payment is not received, the spot will be released and offered to the next eligible player.
