About This Activity
Description
This class is for disciplined young dancers prepared to develop their technique, strength, flexibility, coordination, retention, and artistry. With exercises inspired by the Horton, Dunham, and Fagan techniques, alongside Release Technique, Bartenieff floor work, and post-modern and contemporary stylings, we will explore complex combinations and discover what integrated dancing means for each dancer’s unique bodily facility. Students should expect to sweat, embrace challenging material, and work together to experiment with artistic concepts and build phrase-work and dance scores. Students will expand their technique and vocabulary in service of new possibilities for artistry and expression!Prerequisite: Hochstein Children's Modern dance class, with permission of the instructor
