The Hochstein Music History Survey is a year-long investigation into the development of Western art music from its origins in the ancient world to the present. In this course, you will familiarize yourself with representative works in the vocal, instrumental, chamber, operatic, and orchestral repertoires as well as the composers and contexts that produced them. You will hone your analytical skills through focused listening and score analysis. Prerequisite: AP Music Theory or equivalent. A textbook rental fee of $25 is not included in the class tuition fees.
