Woodwind & Brass Chamber Music CampFor students entering grades 7-12 in Fall 2026Suggested level: NYSSMA Level 4-6 or the equivalent
Join us for this summer chamber music offering tailored specifically for woodwind and brass students. Students will have the opportunity to play in trios, quartets, quintets, and possible instrumental choirs. In addition to daily coachings, students will engage in specialty workshops and presentations, large and small ensembles, as well as a masterclass by a special guest artist. Students will develop and refine their chamber ensemble skills such as cueing, performing without a conductor, intonation, and ensemble balance within a supportive and constructive learning environment.NOTE: All students should submit a short video to be used for placement, as well as consideration for masterclass and the advanced performing group. Students will be grouped by age and playing level and placed in the appropriate session to ensure the most valuable learning/musical experience. Pre-formed groups in the 2025-26 Chamber Music Connections program are welcome to register (and no video submission will be required in those cases).Chamber ensembles will be determined and music assigned prior to the start of camp. Video submission links (Youtube, Vimeo, or Google Drive preferred) should be sent to the directors at CMCSummerwinds@hochstein.org.The deadline for registration and placement videos is Wednesday, July 1, 2026. Inquiries received after the deadline will be considered on a "space available" basis.
Camp will conclude with a performance on Friday, August 14th at 1 pm.
