Discover the joy of playing piano in this welcoming adult piano class designed for learners of all levels. Whether you are a complete beginner or have some previous experience, each week you'll receive personalized, one-on-one instruction in a supportive and relaxed environment that helps you build confidence, develop your musical foundation, and experience the deep satisfaction that comes from making music. Join the fun with fellow adults and start your rewarding piano journey! Class covers essential skills including note reading, chords, rhythms, and key musical terms, while exploring a variety of musical styles such as classical, jazz, pop, and blues. Students must have access to a keyboard or piano at home to practice during the week. Contact adult ed if you need a loaner. A one-time $30 book fee will be payable in cash to the instructor at the first class. Instructor joani mitchell has been playing and teaching piano in the midcoast area for nearly fifty years. You may have heard her play for Our Lady of Good Hope Church, many of the musicals at Camden Hills Regional High School, in local community theaters, and for The Penobscot Bay Singers, among others. She created and implemented the music program at The Riley School. She has a music degree in piano performance from the University of Maine and has studied at the Berklee College of Music in Boston.
