About This Activity
In this small-group class, students will be introduced to the Farsi (Persian) language and culture through interactive, hands-on learning. Using a Farsi-English booklet created by the instructor, students will learn to recognize and write letters of the Persian alphabet, practice vowel sounds, and become familiar with reading and writing from right to left. Games, flashcards, and guided speaking activities will introduce basic conversational skills and vocabulary, including numbers, colors, fruits, and animals. The class will also explore Persian culture through Mehregan, the ancient Persian Autumn Festival, along with crafts, traditional foods, and celebrations. Ms. Mojgan has taught Farsi for five years and is passionate about sharing the Persian language and culture with children. She developed her own Farsi-English workbook specifically to support young learners and uses interactive activities to make language learning engaging and accessible.
