About This Activity
During our summer camp experiences, educators will immerse themselves alongside students, adopting the perspective of a learner with educator insight. Engaging fully in all activities and skills, they'll also serve as vigilant overseers for student safety. Through these paid externship opportunities, teachers will glean firsthand understanding of the skills, hurdles, and potential paths in diverse STEM fields. Our aim is for educators to re-enter classrooms invigorated and equipped to infuse their teaching with newfound knowledge and enthusiasm, igniting inspiration in their students. This fun, interactive and hands-on three-day camp gives youth the opportunity to learn all about forestry in Michigan. Youth will increase their understanding of forest ecosystems and the variety of forestry careers in the greater Roscommon County area through games, field trips, and hands-on learning out in the woods. Participants should bring a bag lunch each day.
