About This Activity
Students will be learning the basics of sewing, cutting, pinning, threading a needle, simple hand sewing, seam allowances, and pressing. Students will learn the basics of making a quilt, sewing patchwork, quilting, and binding. Students will work at their own pace in this class. Students will learn how to use a sewing machine to complete projects, whether or not they need a pattern. Students will learn about the different tools we use while sewing, including rotary cutters, an iron, needles, etc. They will get to explore various fabrics, primarily working with cottons, during this class. Students will get to use the sewing machines available. Students can bring their own machine. Teacher: Jenny Healy
