About This Activity
Calling all future Broadway stars! In this exciting and high-energy introductory musical theatre class, students will sing, dance, act, and shine as they explore the fundamentals of performing on stage in a fun and supportive environment. Young performers will build confidence and creativity while learning beginning acting techniques, ensemble singing, stage movement, and choreography inspired by songs and scenes from some of their favorite musicals. Through theater games, storytelling, music, and movement, students will develop performance skills while making new friends and having a blast. Throughout the semester, the class will work together to rehearse a showcase featuring musical numbers, scenes, and dances selected especially for the group. Family and friends will be invited to enjoy this special final performance on the last day of class as students take the stage and become budding Broadway stars!
