About This Activity
Description
Young illustrators explore the vastly different illustration styles in popular children’s books by Maurice Sendak, Eric Carle, and Lane Smith, and use them as a jumping off point to create illustrations of their own. Campers create art in pencil, watercolor, tempera, collage, and chalk—all inspired by their favorite stories. We learn about the role of the illustrator as we create artwork that tells a story.
