**HOW WE SELECT TEAMS**
5-6 Age Groups: Each team will consist of 10 players. Coaches will be allowed to secure no more than 2 returning players onto their teams. All other team members will be placed onto teams by program staff following registration. Our department will recognize schools and transportation needs for criteria for placement onto teams.
7-15 Age Groups: A Pre-Season Player Placement Draft will determine teams. Players returning to same age group will remain on same team from previous year. Returning players moving to next age group or any first year players will be required to attend draft on date/time listed above. Each team will consist of no more than 10 players.
Our goal is to teach youth the game of basketball, promoting good sportsmanship, fair play, and recreational enjoyment for all participants. Winning is not everything in our league, having fun while learning the game will be emphasized. Basketball is a team sport made up of 10 individuals per team, working together to accomplish their goals.
Reminder: Teams will practice just ONCE a week and once season starts will still practice and will play one game and sometimes two games per week.
All interested coaches will need to complete the background check, this is a requirement to coach, download and return to Hall Gym or send by email to Steve Clark - sclar@salisburync.gov
