"Give your child a joyful jump-start in reading with this engaging after-camp enrichment experience led by Susan Wasiak, Certified Academic Language Therapist! Designed especially for young learners, this class blends expert, research-based reading instruction with play, movement, and multi-sensory fun to help children grow into confident, capable readers. Students will explore letter sounds, phonics patterns, and phonemic awareness through hands-on activities that encourage curiosity, confidence, and active participation. Using tactile materials, games, and interactive practice, children will manipulate letters and words while strengthening decoding skills and early reading output. Lessons also incorporate kinesthetic learning—such as clapping, whole-body movement, and letter and literacy manipulatives—to help young brains make strong, lasting connections between sounds and symbols. This joyful, multisensory approach supports a wide range of learning styles and keeps children motivated and excited about reading. In a warm, nurturing environment guided by a Reading Specialist, students will build strong literacy foundations while feeling successful, celebrated, and proud of their progress every step of the way."
