OVERVIEW This course introduces the student to the use of handcuffs as temporary restraining devices for safety purposes. This course is not handcuff brand or type specific. This is a basic course that covers the use of multiple handcuffing techniques. Keep a copy of your training certificate for proof of training. (TCOLE Reporting Number 2040) COMPLETING THIS COURSE WILL TEACH YOU Basic baton techniques, tactics, blocks, and strikes necessary to successfully deploy the baton. WHO IS THE COURSE FOR The State of Texas does not have a statuary requirement to be trained before carrying handcuffs.
