This summer, older students can enhance literacy skills in an engaging environment. Activities include reading comprehension, inference, summarization, and understanding an author’s purpose, along with boosting confidence in vocal reading through intonation. Special emphasis on morphology will help unlock meanings of complex words by examining roots, prefixes, and suffixes. For younger readers, small-group centers will focus on phonics through blending, decoding, and summarizing stories to improve comprehension and listening skills. Each child will celebrate their progress, nurturing a lasting passion for reading and learning. Taught by a certified academic language therapist CALT, Certified Reading Specialist and Dyslexia Therapist.
