The core principle of improv is a concept called "Yes, and...," which relies heavily on listening and accepting offers in a positive light. This class offers an environment that promotes positivity, creativity, courage and safety. This class will utilize storytelling, allowing the students to offer their wonderful ideas. Students will be taken through various exercises that showcase the three tools of an actor: Body, Voice and Imagination. Each exercise and lesson focuses on one of those principles. Some goals of this class are for students to gain confidence to express their ideas, to learn to work together as a team, and to be inspired to learn more about the art of improv, acting and theater. A typical class format includes character exercises (10 minutes), storytelling (15 minutes), various improv games (30 minutes) and a lesson recap (5 minutes).
