The Music Production Workshop is a three-week, hands-on program introducing middle school students to how music is created in today’s recording studios. Utilizing Drew’s band room and recording studio, students will explore both the creative and technical sides of music in a supportive, beginner-friendly environment while working with professional tools and equipment. Throughout the camp, students will learn and practice: - Songwriting and beat creation - Recording vocals and instruments - Digital editing and sound design - Mixing and basic mastering techniques - Critical listening and creative decision-making Students will also explore music and audio related careers, including producer, recording engineer, composer, and sound designer. And they’ll learn how music connects to film, games, and media. Collaboration is central to the experience. Through group projects and creative challenges, students will develop confidence and creativity. By the end of the three weeks, each student or group will complete a finished song to share and be proud of. This camp is open to all experience levels and focuses on building a strong foundation in music production.
