Come ride with us after dark! We’ll be heading through Golden Gate Park kitted out with lights, bright colors, and reflectors, and we’ll focus on teaching kids how to ride at night with confidence. Night riding has a calm, independent feeling that kids love once they’re comfortable, and we want to help them get there. Before we roll, we’ll go over what makes a rider easy to see at night. Kids will learn why being visible and predictable matters, how to set up their lights and reflectors, and how to do a quick check to make sure everything is charged, clean, and working. Then we’ll head out on a relaxed group ride with leaders at the front and back, so everyone has room to enjoy the park at their own pace. Please bring a bike in good working order, a helmet (required), a white front light and red rear light (also available for rental or purchase) and bright or reflective clothing. Reflectors and decorations will be provided. Pack some water and a warm layer too, since the park gets chilly in the evening. If the weather looks bad, we’ll post an update by noon on the day of the ride.
