This beginner wrestling class introduces students to the strength, focus, and discipline of one of the world’s oldest sports in a safe and supportive environment. Through structured drills, games, and guided partner activities, students learn foundational skills such as balance, coordination, body control, and technique. In addition to improving physical fitness, wrestling helps children build confidence, resilience, and respect for others. Wrestling supports whole-child development by strengthening the body while sharpening the mind through problem-solving and strategic thinking. Students learn the value of effort and perseverance, develop the ability to stay calm under pressure, and build skills to navigate challenges with confidence. Through respectful competition and teamwork, they also gain self-discipline, sportsmanship, and a strong sense of personal accomplishment. This class is an excellent option for families seeking an engaging, active experience that promotes both physical and social-emotional growth. No prior experience is required—just curiosity, energy, and a willingness to learn. The course is led by Jacob Hubbard, an experienced wrestler, alumnus, and current staff member. In addition to coaching the high school wrestling team, he was a standout wrestler during his time as a student at Stuart Hall High School. Coach Hubbard also serves as an Advancement Associate and Gift Officer.
