About This Activity
Our Orton-Gillingham-based literacy program is designed to support incoming first, second, third and fourth grade students who are progressing toward grade-level expectations in the areas of reading, spelling and writing. Class time will focus on developing and reinforcing foundational skills such as encoding and decoding sounds and syllable types, ultimately working towards sentence fluency and comprehension. The class uses multi-sensory strategies that are sequential in nature, providing repetition for the learning and consolidation of skills. Classes are led by qualified reading specialists or instructors ins are limited to eight students per instructor.
