Session 1 - Piano: Introduction to Improvisation This class with provide an introductory understanding of improvisation in music and beginning skills of sight-reading music and improvisation at the keyboard. Students will learn the basics of beginning improvisation alone, with a partner, and as a group in varying styles and genres. We will explore the beginning basics of jazz theory and accompaniment as we explore the keys. Students will also be introduced to beginning reading on the staff, basic rhythmic exercises, and other beginning musical concepts and terminology. Basic beginning staff reading skills recommended. Session 2 - Desert Habitats When you think of the desert, do you think of a hot dry place? It is that, but it is also full of living things both plants and animals as well as interesting land formations. Come and join us as we explore desert habitats around the world.
