Genes in Diseases and Symptoms (GIDAS) introduces students to genomics, bioinformatics, and gene expression analysis through engaging lectures and hands-on activities. Members analyze real datasets, write research abstracts, present their findings to researchers, and prepare for biology competitions. As the high school chapter of miRcore at the University of Michigan, students also gain access to leadership opportunities, researchers, and career exploration in medicine and scientific research. No prior experience is required. Please bring a laptop to meetings.
