About This Activity
In this hands-on class, young artists will explore the history of muralism, from Mexican muralistas to the Chicanx art movement, and how public art sparks social justice. Students will create their own mobile murals (small, portable artworks) on themes like equality, community, and environmental care. No experience needed—just a passion for making art that inspires change! Let’s paint stories that move minds and hearts. En esta clase práctica, los jóvenes artistas explorarán la historia del muralismo —desde los muralistas mexicanos hasta el movimiento artístico chicano— y cómo el arte público impulsa la justicia social. Los estudiantes crearán sus propios murales móviles (obras de arte pequeñas y portátiles) sobre temas como la igualdad, la comunidad y el cuidado del medio ambiente. No se necesita experiencia previa, ¡solo pasión por crear arte que inspire el cambio! Pintemos historias que conmuevan mentes y corazones.
