About This Activity
Prerequisite: Incoming Notre Dame 9th grader Enrollment: By invitation only; students are referred by their school counselor. This course is designed for incoming freshmen who will benefit from building a strong foundation before beginning Algebra 1 at the high school level. Using each student's ALEKS placement test results, the course targets individual areas for growth in key math concepts and skills. Beyond math content, students will develop essential academic habits — including note-taking strategies, effective assignment completion, and active class participation — that will serve them throughout high school. This is also a great opportunity for students to get to know each other and their teacher before the school year begins. Materials needed: Spiral notebook (8.5" x 11" paper), pencil, eraser, and a binder.
