Description
Nature writing focuses on the relationship of humans with the natural world through personal observation and reflection. Nature writers use their writing skills to express their appreciation for nature, as well as enhancing awareness of issues affecting the environment. We’ll have an overview of famous nature writers such as John Muir, Rachel Carson and Henry David Thoreau, as well as modern nature writers.This class encourages participants to read and learn about the natural world and improve their skills in descriptive writing. The course will offer opportunities for nature experiences and provide natural history information, as well as writing tips and prompts to stimulate creativity and improve writing skills. All kinds of nature writers are welcome, including journaling, poetry, essay, memoir, fiction and nonfiction.CLASS SCHEDULE: Subject to Change: Due to their very nature, our classes are “subject to change”.
