Description
Class Objective: Seahawks Prep training further develops competitive swimming strokes in a structured team atmosphere. The Seahawks Prep training program is a perfect opportunity for participants who have completed Level 5 swim lessons at the SLO Swim Center to maintain their progress and bridge the gap from swim lesson to the club team experience. The course is also for community members who are interested in competitive swim and who can perform the prerequisites for the course:
Prerequisites: 5+ years of age with a Level 5 certificate OR can do the following: Perform a feet first entry into deep water, recover to the surface, tread water for 30 seconds and swim back to the wall. Demonstrate coordinated hand and leg movement, timing, and technique in all four competitive strokes for at least 15 yards (Freestyle, Backstroke, Butterfly, and Breaststroke). Takes Place in the Main Pool.
All classes will be taught by a certified Coach of the SLO Swim Club Seahawks, a USA Swimming club team based at the SLO Swim Center. Participants will practice and develop their swimming stroke skills by learning new drills, introduced to proper stoke turns, the diving progression with racing starts, and other swimming skill sets. Classes are 45-minutes long and swim coaches will not be in the water with the students. All participants will receive a Seahawks Team Cap at the beginning of the class.
Maximum Class Size: 10 Students to 1 Instructor, a minimum of 5 students needed
Refunds are not available for Swim Lessons, however credits may be provided if notified 48 hours before the first lesson starts. If you need to cancel within 48 hours of the first lesson start time, you will receive 75% of the program cost credited you your account.
