Put on your detective hats—this week is all about learning to read the stories animals leave behind! Adventurers will explore New Mexico's landscapes while learning to identify animal tracks, nests, burrows, and other signs of wildlife. We’ll practice tracking and trailing techniques, study pelts and skulls to better understand animal behavior, and tune in to bird language as we search for birds in the wild. A highlight of the week is a visit to the Wildlife Center in Española, where campers will meet rescued raptors and learn about wildlife conservation. Through teamwork, games, and hands-on discovery, campers will build confidence and sharpen their observation skills.
