Description
The City of Santa Maria Teen Leadership Program is a workshop consisting of eight sessions that enable teens 14 to 18 years old to develop their communication and leadership skills through practical experience. In the workshop, the teens will learn how to evaluate their own speaking ability, prepare and deliver speeches, give impromptu talks, control their voice, vocabulary, and gestures, and how to give constructive feedback to their peers. The workshop is presented by members of the City Slickers Toastmasters Club comprised of City employees from multiple departments. Teens will earn community service hours while they attend. Free dinner from the McClelland Street Market is included.
