About This Activity
Scenting Level 2 Description: Continue having fun and building teamwork with your dog. In this class, you’ll build more search techniques and efficiency using your dog’s natural problem-solving abilities. You will be introduced to odor paired with food or other rewards you use, and search interiors. What You’ll Learn: Improve your dog’s search pattern and catalog where they have already been. Strengthen your bond through engaging teamwork. Build your dog’s confidence and problem-solving skills in a fun and supportive environment. This class builds on the skills learned in Scenting For Fun with increasingly difficult hides, interior searched, and the introduction of odor. The handler will learn more about reading the dog’s search behavior, odor plume, and hide placement. Class Details: Prerequisites: Scenting For Fun or Scenting For Puppies or instructor approval. Series length: 4 weeks, 60 minutes/class Price: $125 Dogs should be 5 months or older when starting the class. Instructor contact: wsmith@humanesocietysoco.org Contact: dogtraining@humanesocietysoco.org Vaccine requirements: Photo proof of vaccinations must be emailed to instructor (wsmith@humanesocietysoco.org) two days prior to the start of in-person classes or your dog will not be able to attend class. Proof of at least one distemper/parvo combination vaccine taken at least seven days prior to start of class. Proof of current rabies vaccination. Proof of current bordetella vaccination.
