About This Activity
Thank you for registering as a delegate with DIGIVATIONS XGENS’ Delegation to participate in Yale’s In Person High School Model United Nations Latin America (www.ymunlatam.org), Your acceptance to participate with XGENS is an accomplishment of which you should be proud since the Delegation evaluation process is highly selective. Parents are welcome to attend as a chaperone of their own child and must be responsible for their child's welfare which includes meals, hygiene, healthcare and dressing appropriately in business casual attire. Parents' presence, while appreciated, should not pose a conflict with daily management of the delegation and conference schedule and activities. If parents are unable to attend, there is a mandatory $600 chaperone fee. At YMUN Latam, hundreds of high school students will tackle pressing global issues and expose themselves to diverse perspectives. During the three days of committee, our main goal is to challenge you to think critically and engage with fellow delegates. As global representatives, you'll dive into historical conflicts, explore humanitarian crises, and work together to find common ground on worldwide debates. You'll draft and pass numerous resolutions addressing a range of global challenges, all while developing your leadership and teamwork skills that are vital for future leaders. Before the Conference, you will likely draft and submit position papers consistent with your assigned role contextualized within the UN’s mission. This form of role playing while challenging since it tests interdisciplinary talents enables you to develop mentorship and leadership skills.
