About This Activity
Description
Schaumburg Park District is proud to present Shrek Kids! This summer theatre camp is a two week long daytime program that incorporates acting, singing, dancing, sets, props, and costumes, just like a traditional musical! The daily schedule includes rehearsal time, outdoor time, lunch and snack time, and a cast party to Water Works! The two week-camp will be followed by two full-scale performances on our main stage!
Synopsis: Once upon a time, in a far away swamp, there lived an ogre named Shrek. One day, Shrek finds his swamp invaded by banished fairytale misfits who have been cast off by Lord Farquaad, a tiny terror with big ambitions. When Shrek sets off with a wisecracking donkey to confront Farquaad, he's handed a task — if he rescues feisty princess Fiona, his swamp will be righted. Shrek tries to win Fiona’s love and vanquish Lord Farquaad, but a fairytale wouldn't be complete without a few twists and turns along the way.
Performances will take place Friday, July 31st at 7:00pm and Saturday, August 1st at 2:00pm. Just like a traditional show, all campers are expected to be at both performances. Tickets will be available for $7.00 per ticket!
Remember to pack a water bottle, lunch and a snack, sunscreen, a pencil and an eraser for your camper. Close-toed shoes are required!
