With a professional recording artist, singer, and songwriter, you'll dive into all three components of creating an original song: the music, the lyrics, the voice - produce your own electronic music, using the digital recording software, Ableton; compose your lyrics as you learn more about the structure of songwriting; and add your voice, maybe those of your fellow studio mates or even your instructor, OT. Your collection of songs will be added to Coyote's growing collection of awesome student-produced works. *NO CLASS FEBRUARY 23* What you'll need: Laptop, smartphone, or tablet with working camera/microphone. Device with ability to download and run Ableton - please install the Live Trial before the first day of class: https://www.ableton.com/en/trial/ This is your chance to engage in virtual face-to-face time using the ZOOM platform and be led through traditional Coyote icebreakers, demonstrations, discussions, and reflections. You'll have the opportunity to interact with your instructor and your peers "real-time" during the class. Instructors will incorporate technique, critique, and interactive teaching in each session. It'll look JUST like a Studio Coyote class, only your friends will be on your screen and your art will be in your home! Instructor: Otieno Stephens-Terry
