Chess is an ancient game played the world over. It's at least three thousand years old in its earliest forms yet even with the most powerful computers we still have much to learn about this intriguing and complex game. The benefits of chess are too numerous to list here, but building confidence, strong thinking skills, a great competitive spirit, and self-control are among them. Chess has been shown to improve academic performance and scholarly skills in numerous studies. Most importantly, chess is a lot of fun! Our club is open to all players no matter the skill level and will feature weekly instruction, competition as well as support for outside tournaments and other events. Taught by Seattle Chess School
