About This Activity
Connections Rhythm class is designed for students with a year learning their instrument looking to learn about the important role of a rhythm section. The rhythm section provides a pivotal role in any ensemble but especially in a jazz combo. Connections Rhythm class will center around instruments that traditionally make up a band's rhythm section - drums, percussion, bass, guitar and piano (but all instruments are welcome). Students will learn to identify and play a variety of grooves and time-feels captured through the history of jazz from swing, latin, bossa nova and more! PROGRAM DETAILS Dates: September 29, 2025 - June 15, 2026 Day/Time: Mondays, 6:00 PM-7:30 PM Location: Seattle JazzED (380 Boren Ave N, Seattle, WA 98109) TUITION We believe that every student who wants to play should get to play. That’s why we offer a variety of tuition levels for our programming. We encourage you to select the option that’s best for your family at this time. If you’re unable to pay for tuition at any level at this time, we still want you in our classes! Please click here to request a code for our no-tuition option. No questions asked. We can hire and retain local working musicians to teach our classes at livable wage in our community.
