This ensemble explores advanced harmonic and melodic materials, solo transcription, solo composition, and lead-sheet composing and arrangement. It is suggested that students also take Jazz Theory as a companion class. This class is meant for intermediate and advanced players.
New student enrollment is subject to instructor approval; contact David Shere to inquire.
Combo members can join the recommended Jazz Theory class for a discounted rate of just $99!
Participants who are also enrolling in Jazz Theory should enroll for the same weekday class as their Jazz Combo class. Music theory questions and improvising strategies are discussed in theory and applied in Combo performance.
