About This Activity
Students will explore the core elements of music—rhythm, melody, harmony, and expression—through the lens of jazz. Through singing, movement, and hands-on instrument discovery, young musicians will learn about the rich history of artists, their iconic styles, and the cultural roots that shaped this uniquely American art form. Activities encouraging active listening along with rhythmic play will help build needed skills to prepare students for future instrument learning.
