About This Activity
Students will explore the core elements of music—rhythm, melody, harmony, and expression—through the lens of jazz. Through singing, movement, and hands-on instrument discovery, young musicians will learn about the rich history of artists, their iconic styles, and the cultural roots that shaped this uniquely American art form. Activities encouraging active listening along with rhythmic play will help build needed skills to prepare students for future instrument learning. PROGRAM DETAILS Dates: January 17, 2026 - March 14, 2026 Day/Time: Saturdays, 9:30 -10:15 PM Location: Seattle JazzED (380 Boren Ave N, Seattle, WA 98112) TUITION We believe that every student who wants to play should get to play. That’s why we offer a variety of tuition levels for our programming. We encourage you to select the option that’s best for your family at this time. If you’re unable to pay for tuition at any level at this time, we still want you in our classes! Please request a code for our no-tuition option. No questions asked, no info required. There are also payment plans available to break up the total amount due. Starting October 1, 2025 a new Washington State law (ESSB 5814) requires us to add sales tax to tuition. Sales tax will apply to all tuition amounts up to our standard tuition level.
