About This Activity
This course will focus on the fundamentals of live performance, what acting looks like in 2025, and most importantly, how to work with another as an ensemble through scene work, improvisation and devised performance. This will require students to get on their feet, move with intention and follow their creative impulses. Over the duration of the course the students will work together to devise and perform short scenes as an ensemble or in small groups to conclude the course. In addition to enhancing creativity through acting, this class will help young people improve reading comprehension, memorization, focus, and critical thinking skills as well as strengthen their public speaking skills, problem-solving, and the ability to adapt to new situations.
