About This Activity
Instructor: Ellen McConnell, Sewickley Academy Grade 4 Teacher Hey rising 6th graders! Ready to dive into middle school - and get a head start on your summer reading? Let's tackle some of it together! You're required to read at least four books this summer, and during this camp we'll complete three of them while practicing key middle school skills like recalling, annotating, and summarizing. Together, we'll explore a graphic novel, a novel told in verse, and a teacher-recommended novel chosen just for you! We'll read in great spots both inside and outdoors, make steady progress, and have fun every step of the way. We encourage all campers to pack a nutritious snack and a refillable water bottle each day of camp.
