Registration for for-credit classes begins on 2/23/26 to accommodate student scheduling for 2026-27. This innovative course combines both synchronous and asynchronous learning to empower young women with the financial knowledge and confidence they need to make informed personal finance decisions throughout high school, college, and beyond. Core topics include developing and maintaining a personal budget, understanding credit scores and responsible credit use, exploring saving and investing strategies, and gaining a practical introduction to taxes. A distinguishing feature of this course is the involvement of Hathaway Brown alumnae, who serve as mentors and discussion leaders in small Financial Literacy Mentor Groups. Students must have reliable internet and Zoom access in a quiet, learning conducive space. Attendance during several synchronous meeting times is required, and those exact dates and times will be scheduled at a later date. Attendance Policy: Attendance at all course meetings is mandatory due to the condensed nature of summer school courses. Missing a day of summer school class is the equivalent of missing a week of classes during the school year. Credit will not be given to students who miss summer school classes.
