Description
GRADES BASED ON 2023-2024 SCHOOL YEAR
The Sheldon Recreation Department may conduct a background check on all volunteer coaches. The purpose of these background checks is, first and foremost, to protect the participants of the programs.
Games: Our 3rd-6th graders will be playing in a NWIA Youth Baseball League with Rock Valley, Larchwood, Sibley, Rock Rapids and Hull. We will be playing games on Tuesday & Thursday Evenings. Additional games may be added based on how many participants we have. Volunteer coaches will set up dates and times for practices.
Practice: After the registration deadline has passed you will be contacted by your coaches regarding your practice schedule. The first date in which coaches can schedule practice is the first Monday in May. All practices in the month of May or evening practices in June and early July will be set by your coaches.
During the month of June we'll be having 1 hour practices on Monday through Thursday during the mornings. We'll have one adult supervisor along with high school assistants to help with the practices. Volunteer coaches can still hold practices during the evening during the month of June & early July if they choose to do so. More information will be sent out once registration is complete.
The participation cost of this league is $65. When registering for this program you will also have the option to purchase a team uniform top for $20 if you do not already own one from the previous season. Additional options include: a team baseball hat for $25 or a softball visor for $25 as well as putting your last name on the back of your uniform for only $6.
NOTE: Grade levels are based on the 2023-2024 Academic School Year.
