About This Activity
Description
Level: Beginner
Young string players are introduced to their instruments through orchestral experience, as the group environment has proven to be an encouraging and rewarding experience for young beginners. Students will learn the basics of the instrument's technique (violin, viola, or cello). This class offers two concerts each year.
Levine faculty lead technique classes, sectionals and full ensemble rehearsals while teaching proper posture and set-up, rhythm, and note reading. Although students and parents can indicate their instrument of preference, faculty members help choose the student's instrument during a placement interview and provide information on renting the assigned instrument. Before registering, please sign up for a placement interview: https://levine.formstack.com/forms/beginner_string_orchestra_interview_signup
