Explore the possibilities of learning this awesome sport, along with making new friends as your child conquers Lake Michigan with confidence and poise. In this 4-week course, you will learn knot tying, how to use the wind to your advantage, set up and take down a sailboat, operate a vessel on land and then in the water, and most of all, the fun of sailing! There will be approximately six classroom hours and 6 hours of water instruction. Class is weather dependent. Participants must be able to swim 25 yards and tread water for 1 minute. Participants must supply a Coast Guard-approved life vest. Participants must bring a swimsuit and towel, notebook and pen, and a positive attitude. Class size is limited, so please register early!
