The Downriver Family YMCA and the City of Southgate Parks & Rec are partnering together for our 2024 Youth Basketball League! This league is a great way to learn new skills, be a part of a team, and have fun. Players learn techniques for dribbling, shooting, and passing. They also work on learning rules of the game and spend time working together as a team.Each team will practice once a week at one of the Southgate Elementary Schools and games will be played on Fridays or Saturdays at the Downriver Family YMCA.
We need you! This league is not possible without volunteer coaches. Contact the Y for more information about becoming a Volunteer Coach. Training will be provided. If you coach, your kid is FREE! Ask the Y for details!
Non Members who live in Southgate should register in person or by phone to ensure they get the correct rate.
Fees are date-based. Rates will increase as the registration timeline changes.
Due to the amount of registrations we receive, we will not be able to accommodate special requests such as practice days and coaches. Please keep this in mind when registering. Refunds will NOT be provided.
You will be contacted within two weeks of the season starting with your coach and practice times.
Coaches receive a free session of basketball for their child.
