About This Activity
Hoop Stars is a basketball program designed to teach children the fundamentals of the game and is appropriate for children of ALL skill levels. It will introduce them to the fundamentals of the game while also incorporating more advanced skills such as basic offensive plays and defensive principles. Classes are a mix of skills, drills and game play. Each week of instruction will focus on a new skill with the goal of having some game time so that players have the chance to begin implementing what they’ve learned. Overall, there is an emphasis on having fun in a positive environment while learning the game! Hoops Stars classes are being taught by Owner and Director Dan McKenna. Dan was a member of the Penn State Basketball team from 1990-1994 and has been coaching and teaching basketball for the past 25 years. Dan truly enjoys teaching basketball to young players while focusing on teaching, coaching, and learning the game in a positive environment.
