About This Activity
The Central PA Fencing Programs were started by Maestro Wes Glon. Coach Glon emigrated from Poland and is the current head coach of the renound PSU Fencing team with over 30 years experience there.I HAVE BEEN FENCING AND COACHING FOR 44 YEARS. MY SERIOUS CAREER BEGAN WITH THE PSU FENCING TEAM AND MOVED ON TO TOURNAMENTS AND CLUBS IN EACH CITY I LIVED IN. AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAMS ARE MY SPECIALTY AS I HAVE DONE MANY SCHOOL AND CLUB PROGRAMS OVER THE LAST 13 YEARS. He is currently the manager of the CPFA Scholastic Programs and is head coach of the popular PSU Fencing Club. Nittany Fencing Academy providing beginner classes for kids introducing them to sport of fencing using many types of games. Depends on group age kids will learn basics movements and fencing techniques. Kids also will learn about the safety rules and organization. This program is designed as an introduction to fencing and our specialty is teaching the art of fencing to children. Fencing develops intense focus, physical fitness, precise coordination and a keen mind. We seek to develop these traits in our students. We learn footwork, handwork and play games designed to increase fitness, mental focus and sportsmanship. KIDS WILL LEARN FENCING FROM FOOTWORK and BLADE WORK to TACTICS.
