Level: Advanced Our 420 Race team takes a methodical approach to 420 racing, trusting the team’s day to day processes and goal setting to enhance development both mentally and physically. Our season starts with a focus on the detailed boat handling of the 420 that includes using the trapeze and spinnaker. Students will build on that foundation, with knowledge of tactics and rules, and boat preparation and tuning. NESS aims to foster a great team-first mentality where all members can contribute to everyone’s improvement. Many sailors join as a pair, hoping to do the summer’s regatta circuit together, but we encourage our team members to swap helm and switch pairings for drills. We also welcome those without a set partner and will help facilitate pairings from week to week. Proficiency at both positions in the boat will only help a team’s choreography and communication. The regatta schedule is based primarily around the ECSA circuit, but we will also participate in larger regional events that challenge and create memorable team experiences. Sailors considering joining this team should have a strong background in small dinghy racing and a passion for growth. ** Must take 420 Development or receive coach recommendation prior to registration.** Recommended Next Classes: -Advanced Adventures
