About This Activity
Level: Beginner Designed for students ages 6-9, this introductory class will enable first-time sailors to get a “taste” of sailing on Stonington Harbor. Students will work together throughout the week to become familiar with Optimist training boats while practicing dock and water safety. During this time, students will learn boat parts, rigging, and steering. One step at a time, students will learn the basics in a nurturing environment with friendly and patient instructors. This course can be combined with Second Taste of Optis for an exciting, two-week learn to sail experience! Recommended Next Classes: -Repeat First Taste of Optis -Second Taste of Optis
